“I believe that coaching represents and symbolises the collective societal shift from the hierarchy towards self-development and it is vitally important at this time of environmental, economic and social instability that coaching plays a major role in promoting better forms of leadership”

Sir John Whitmore

"I am waiving my fees for this event to help make it more accessible to people during recession"

Dr Angus McLeod

You can’t escape the impact of the current recession; it affects everyone. Businesses and organisations have seen revenue shrink as demand for goods and services fall, whilst individuals, families and communities find themselves navigating through a plethora of uncertainties. But these challenges offer an ideal opportunity for the coaching profession to demonstrate that it has the solutions; solutions that will help to create future success and bring out positive change.

There can be little doubt that at this time good leadership is essential. But what do we mean by leadership, and what is its relationship with coaching? By bringing together in one event two of the foremost coaches in the United Kingdom, Sir John Whitmore and Angus McLeod, The Coaching Foundation West Midlands aims to answer these and other questions. This event is one not to be missed.

By the end of the day, delegates can expect to:

·       Understand the role of coaching in the context of today’s economic recession.

·       The relationship between coaching and leadership.

·       Learn techniques that can be used to coach leaders and individuals through the particular challenges of today.

·       Get a deeper appreciation of coaching; recognising that it is not a tool but a way of being.

·       Learn to coach at a deeper psychological level.

Who is the event aimed at?

·       Professional and student coaches

·       Coach managers

·       Organisational and business leaders

The Black Country Living Museum

The venue for the event is the Black Country Living Museum. A perfect backdrop, celebrating the pioneering spirit of our industrial forefathers. In the same way as they embraced change and innovation, similar choices are faced by today’s leaders and individuals alike. As part of the ticket price delegates will have the opportunity to explore the museum and to learn more about the lessons of the past and how these can be applied to the future.
